Dear friends and family,

Thank you for your patience as we have been working to ensure no one misses an update! We are so thankful that you take the time to pray for us and follow along on this journey the Lord is taking us on. We praise the Lord for the ways he has been faithful and provided financial support in both ordinary and unexpected ways. Through the blessing of many generous one-time gifts, we are happy to share that we are just about fully funded for this calendar year, praise the Lord! Thank you to our growing base of monthly supporters who have made it so clear that the Lord is bringing people around us to allow this mission to thrive.

Early this morning, Benjamin departed with two other friends from church on the long drive up to Alaska. We covet your prayers at this time as they haul a 24′ trailer and will likely still be encountering a good bit of winter weather along the way, especially as they head north through Canada. In order to keep everyone updated as Benjamin drives, I will be posting daily notes on our website (shoutout to Jason Cavet at CavetTek for building and sponsoring such an amazing platform for us to stay connected through!). Lord willing, the guys will spend the night with friends in Chicago and continue on tomorrow. So far, the truck has been running smoothly, and they have safely made it out of Pennsylvania, crossed a tip of West Virginia, and as I type this, they have left Ohio and are driving through Indiana on rough roads. The Lord is good; they have only experienced a minor hiccup when the truck started running a code – I won’t pretend to know exactly how that works – but in stopping to investigate the code, they found a tire on the trailer rapidly losing air due to a nail. After replacing the tire and clearing the code, they have continued on uneventfully without the code returning. Praise the Lord!

As I eagerly await each update from the guys (comment what their trail/team name should be so I don’t keep calling them “the guys”), I am thankful for the time of calm and rest I have over the next few days between the whirlwinds of packing and unpacking. If you want to go to the park or get together with me, I won’t fly out until April 2nd, so let’s get together!

In Christ,

Mikaela
