A name has officially been chosen! The Permafrost Posse has crossed into Canada and is driving through a snowstorm in 12º temperatures. Earlier today, Benjamin said the wind was whipping across their path so hard he wondered if the antenna on the truck was going to blow loose!  With about 5 more hours of driving before they reach Edmonton, they still have many miles if wide open praire to drive.

The Posse drove through most of the night last night before taking a 3/4 hour rest stop about an hour and a half before the border crossing. Benjamin claims the bed in the trailer (with about 10 inches of nose clearance) was perfect, and he slept until his alarm. I haven’t heard from Jacob to confirm this story. All in all, they had a smooth border crossing. They were searched for about an hour, but the only comment they received was that they should have notified border patrol about the apples they had in the truck. Oops, that was my bad. But nothing was confiscated, and they were sent on their journey.

As they encounter more inclement winter weather, we ask that you continue to pray for the safety of the Permafrost Posse, the truck, the trailer, and all the vehicles they pass along the way. This stretch of the journey was what led Benjamin and me to decide it would be best if I flew up later with the boys. With the frosty temperatures, even clear road conditions can get sketchy if you need to sit along the side of the road for too long with little ones.

Thank you for your prayers!

Mikaela
