Greetings everyone!

I hope there are still some people following along with these updates! Once they arrived in Alaska, Benjamin forgot about taking pictures, so unfortunately I don’t have any photo evidence of what must have been blessed chaos as they unloaded the trailer on Monday. Benjamin thinks it may have only taken an hour to get everything out and distributed around the house! That’s incredible! Many of the guys from camp showed up to help and it moved the process along so quickly. Praise the Lord for community who shows up to do the heavy lifting (literally).

There is still a mountain of work to do in unpacking all the boxes and settling in, but we are already off to a great start. God has been so good to us in this time of transition. We are so thankful for each and every prayer and word of encouragement, we love to hear from you all! I’ll be writing a few more daily updates until we are reunited as a family in Alaska. Just know that for the now the Permafrost Posse is enjoying the Alaska scenery and happy to be off the road!

I will be flying up on Thursday to join Benjamin, so please keep us in your prayers. It is a long flight for anyone, let alone two boys who will be skipping their naps and running on adrenaline all day while I try to corral them into our seats. Ethan will be on my lap and Aaron next to me. Lord willing, we will depart shortly before noon from the Philly airport and arrive in Anchorage sometime around 11pm (EST). After that, just a short two hour car ride before we can get some much anticipated rest together as a family. My arrival will also mark the end of the Permafrost Posse, as Josh and Jacob will be flying out that same evening to return to PA.

In Christ,

Mikaela

We’re a young couple following the Lord’s call to serve at Victory Bible Camp in Glacier View, Alaska. We believe in the power of Christ-centered community, the beauty of wild places, and the joy of saying “yes” — even when you can’t see the whole path. Thanks for walking with us.
