Instead of writing about the short break we had between groups last week, I spent Saturday hiking and hanging out with my family. My parents as well as my older brother and his wife flew in to spend a week as volunteers at camp. Having my parents here reminded me a lot of my first time here in 2016. Everything was new for them and it reminded me how overwhelmed I was that first summer here, but especially the first few days. God has been so good to me and I learned so much that summer.
Taking them to see each of the places I have become so familiar with was exciting. I saw things from a fresh perspective again and I realized how much I really have come to love the people and places that were once foreign to me. When we trust God and step out in faith, he is always faithful. I have experienced God’s love, protection, and provision in so many ways here at camp and I was reminded yet again of those times with my family here.
As they volunteered at camp, I was able to rest and enjoy time with them in the evenings and bits here and there throughout the days. A photo is worth a thousand words, right? So I am going to let the photos speak for themselves as we currently have another Doulos group here and I don’t have much time.
Benjamin and I would appreciate your prayers as we have an exciting opportunity that we are pursuing at the end of the summer. I will share more later, but please be praying for wisdom, guidance, and that the Lord would be at work in all that is happening.
